Not only are we inseparable from our devices, we can make ourselves sound like machines, too. If you're a fan of autotune, there's an app for that, or, a WeeWow.
WeeWow turns your iPhone into a talk box with an adapter and tubing. The device routes your speaker's sound through the tube and lets you use your lips and teeth to shape the tone.
Talking like a robot has never been easier. Check out the video above to see how it works.
Ridiculo.us, WeeWow's creators, explains the device takes advantage of the iPhone's sound-making capabilities. You can use any sound app, from synthesizers to guitars.
Kyle Scheele stumbled across the idea while accidentally covering a phone's speaker during use. After covering and uncovering, Scheele put the phone in his mouth. The result? A "wow-wow-wow" noise that's similar to noises created by a talk box.
Since most people would rather not eat an iPhone, Scheele put together a prototype in just five days, he explains on his site.
Peter Frampton popularized the talk box in the 1970s and the music machine has been used by artists including Bon Jovi and Aerosmith.
Backers can preorder a WeeWow on Kickstarter starting at $25. The devices are anticipated to ship by June.
Would you use a talk box for your iPhone? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
